Glacier Trail/Elkhart Park, Pinedale, Wyoming, USA
Begin at Elkhart Park (9,400 ft). Hike 18 miles through the Wind River Range to the Dinwoody Glacier basin, camping at Titcomb Basin or near the glacier. The summit day involves crossing the Dinwoody or Gooseneck Glacier (rope and crevasse rescue skills required), climbing the Gooseneck Pinnacle couloir (steep snow/ice), then traversing exposed ridge to the summit. This is Wyoming's highest and most remote peak. Allow 4-6 days for the complete trip.
This route requires advanced mountaineering skills. Proper equipment and experience are essential.
