Imlil Village, High Atlas Mountains, Morocco
Start from Imlil (1,740m). Trek through Berber villages to the Toubkal Refuge (3,207m), typically staying overnight. The summit day follows a well-marked trail up the South Cirque, climbing steep scree and boulder fields. In winter/spring, snow may cover the upper route requiring crampons and ice axe. The summit pyramid involves some easy scrambling. Mule support available to the refuge. A guide is recommended but not required in summer.
