Start from the José Ribas Refuge at 4,800m. The route begins with a steep climb over volcanic scree before reaching the glacier. Rope up and follow the standard route north, navigating crevasse fields. Pass Yanasacha rock formation and continue up the final steep snow slopes to the crater rim. The true summit is on the northern edge of the crater.
