Tioga Pass Entrance, Yosemite National Park, California, USA
Start at Tioga Pass (9,945 ft), the eastern Yosemite entrance. The trail climbs steadily through alpine meadows filled with wildflowers in summer. Above treeline, follow the use trail up the broad southwest slope. The route is straightforward but steep, with some loose scree near the top. No technical climbing required. The summit offers outstanding views of Mono Lake, the Sierra crest, and Yosemite's high country. Afternoon thunderstorms common in summer - start early.
