From the Snowbowl parking area (9,300 ft), take the Humphreys Peak Trail through beautiful spruce-fir forest. The well-maintained trail switchbacks up through the Kachina Peaks Wilderness. Above treeline (11,400 ft), the trail crosses an exposed alpine tundra - stay on trail to protect fragile plants. The final rocky summit block offers 360-degree views of northern Arizona. This is sacred land to 13 tribes; please be respectful. No technical climbing required but altitude affects many hikers.
