The Vivian Creek Trail starts at Mill Creek Canyon (6,080 ft). Climb through chaparral into pine forest, passing Vivian Creek Camp and High Creek Camp. Above treeline, traverse the barren alpine slopes of the San Gorgonio massif. The final push crosses the broad summit plateau to the highpoint of Southern California. Permits required for all wilderness entry. Brutal sun exposure - carry plenty of water. Snow lingers into early summer, ice axe may be needed in spring.
