Note: This volcano is currently CLOSED due to volcanic activity. When open, the route begins at Paso de Cortés (3,600m). The standard route ascends the northern flank through alpine grassland and volcanic rock. Higher up, the route crosses snowfields and navigates around fumaroles. The final push to the crater rim requires careful navigation of loose volcanic terrain.
This route requires advanced mountaineering skills. Proper equipment and experience are essential.
